Estabulo is a chain of restaurants embracing the desire for people to indulge in the best barbecued meat, cooked and then served from skewers right at the table. With an atmosphere to match, the owner needed S&S to come up with uniquely different but similar designs for 6 restaurants opening within an 18-month period.

The idea being that the dining experience felt familiar but special each time they visited a different venue. Having seen our portfolio of work and trusting what we do the client gave us a carte blanche to be creative and work with colour and texture.

An exciting addition to the wall finishes was a request for a few true artwork pieces that would compliment the overall feel but have their own place within the restaurants. The sample boards were a challenge before we even started the work. To create not only one amazing sample board that fitted perfectly with the design but to create 6 unique finishes for the whole restaurant chain.

Each install had its own unique finish based challenges, but with every restaurant finished, the clients desire to get the next one open as quickly as possible meant each install was fast paced, working to tight deadlines and working with all the other trades on site.

The finishes were all more like artwork with blended colours, layering and stencilling finished with metallic or waxes. We have a team of creative installers that are capable of working at speed and to high standard so this was both enjoyable and very unique, each member of Team Stucco putting the creative stamp on the finish.

Creating the wall mounted artwork proved to be both inspiring and satisfying. As the team became more and more focused on the whole restaurant fit in relation to the wall finishes, we became involved in other design aspects outside of the surface design, offering both ideas and solutions to the styling of the venues.

We now have installed truly bespoke wall finishes in all 6 venues, enhanced with great artwork and with a very happy client. Each restaurant has a vibrant atmosphere, deep and rich in detail and colour that gives all the visitors an authentic feel to go with the beautiful food that’s served there.

We have developed trust and a great working relationship with the restaurant owners, we love working at their amazing venues as they give us creative freedom to produce something a little different.

S&S will feature heavily in any future work as more restaurants are planned throughout the next couple of years. We look forward to being involved and are enjoying the recommendations and accolades this lengthy, challenging but satisfying project has brought.
