The Brief

Bernard Carroll of Carroll Designs in Manchester had designed the amazing Fazenda restaurant in Liverpool and our client was
looking for a unique wall finish to compliment that design. It needed to fit the restaurants theme and help drive the unique
Brazilian way of serving food that Fazenda is renowned for.

We were shown mood boards and finishes that including dark wood, rich tanned leather, beautiful tiles and pendant lighting. Other key features included 5000 bottles of wine on display within the dining area. This gave is a real sense of what was needed for the wall finish throughout the space.

The Sample board: Time was of the essence, as it is on many
projects we are part of, and we needed to create an amazing sample board that would fit the atmosphere of the restaurant by early the following week. Working through the weekend to get this just right we revealed it to the owners and designers the following Tuesday in Manchester. They loved the sample!

The Install

Delivery of the project can be a challenge depending on complexity, area and scope of the install. Fazenda would present a number of challenges to overcome, not least of all that we needed to cover 800sqm of wall with a multi layered finish that was in itself
technical. The project had tight deadlines that needed to be met. We knew this would be a team effort but another challenge would be assembling a team of installers that could deliver a high quality finish in all areas of the install.

Prior to starting the work on site we assembled a team and trained on this particular finish until everyone was nailing the quality and
consistency required for the job. Incidentally this was the catalyst for the Stucco & Stucco training academy which is now a successful part of the business itself.

We started work in the restaurant in summer 2013. It was a busy site with many trades competing for time and space to get the work done. The final challenge was to keep the consistency and quality up within the technical aspects of the install which included working at height, many angles, corners, pillars and open expanses of wall.

The Result

The unique and bespoke wall installation was delivered on time and on budget as per the brief. The client was incredibly happy with the finish, its match to the atmosphere of the restaurant and the
consistent quality in all the areas it was applied.

It was a landmark project for Stucco & Stucco and because of that initial work with the client and the designer we have delivered 5 other high quality installs in venues in Manchester, Leeds, Chester and mist recently Edinburgh. We have a strong relationship now and there are more projects to follow.
